Default Rear Damping adjustment dial

For the rear damping adjustment (not preload), I am trying to understand the orientation of turning the dial. If you were looking down at the dial from above, does turning it clockwise make the suspension harder or softer? This is for 2002 Katana 600.

Neither, thatís the rebound adjustment. Clockwise is a faster rebound, counter clock wise is a slower rebound.
