There all new.

Carbs were rebuilt.
To recap..
I’ve cleaned tank
Cleaned original jetted carbs
Replaced all orings, needles, and seats in original carbs.
Bought a “known” good set of carbs
Replaced orings, needles and seats in “known” carbs
Set float height in known carbs
Synced both sets of carbs
Replaced plugs
Did valve adjustment
Bike has average of 165-175 psi compression over all cylinders.

Bike cranks fine in warm weather without choke
Bike doesn’t want to idle unless idle screw is turned all the way in and even then it’s about 1200 rpms
Bike blows black smoke, very light, throughout rpm band
Bike seems to have a skip under 4K rpms
Bike runs better above 4K rpms

Oh and now I’ve bought a new set of coils..

Idle circuit problem? Worn A/F needles? Missing the points? Jets too large. Main jet feeding too low in the RPM range. Sticking choke plunger(s) or slide. Worn plunger seals. Sticking slide(s). Sinking float. Just a couple thoughts..

Put new coils on, fired bike up and it was running
Bike died..
went to crank it again and the ign fuse was blown
I put new fuse in, tried to crank, and blew fuse again
Checking connections, I noticed a draw on the headlights when coil was connected..
Swapped back to one factory coil and bike still won’t run..

Not sure what the hell happened. Guess I got a bad coil out of the box??

So, I listened to a friend and took the bike to his buddy who was suppose to be a bike mechanic. After 2 wasted trips, this guy tried to tell me that my bike was running off compression only because the coils are bad 😂😂😂

I just tested the coils and they pass on the primary side but secondary side is not within the specified value in the service manual..

Nice you have a diesel bike

Bet your happy with that

Sparkplug caps should have a resistance of @5K ohms (total @ adding 10K ohms to your test) to far outside that range up or down could lead to bad running.
Take plugs off and test the leads through the secondary side then add 10 K ohms to see if it a guessitmate within the range can test plugs directly also to see if there is a difference.

As per krey suggestion if resistance is high "If the ends where the caps plug on are hard, or if the caps will pull off... clip back 1/2" to 1" of wire back to soft flexible, and screw the boots back on"

Short circuit did you get it sorted?
