There is no solution I know of to reset it, although I have heard of some outfit that supposedly can out in Cali (but the cost to do so, a few years back, was in the $160 range -- an used cluster is typically cheaper than that). It is firmware based (removing the power from the ROMs makes zero difference, ditto zapping it with over-voltage -- otherwise bikes with bad batteries or bad charging systems would reset it, both a violation of DOT requirements for odo's).
Fortunately, the trip odometers continue to work, so you can keep track of distance for service, pending replacement of the speedo cluster.

One question? If I change my cluster and get one from Ebay, will the odometer the display be km or miles?? may sound stupid but have to ask!!!! I just wrote to Suzuki canada and waiting for the answer who knows maybe will get a new one, but I 'm not holding my breath!!Last edited by cricribitume; 05-01-2011, 07:55 AM.
