not if it is anything like my clock battery on my 1100. 17 years old and it's still ticking.
I don't have a short temper. I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.

Nope it wont happen at all- I 've had my 750's gauge pod unplugged for 8 months and it still registered the correct milage- Im not sure if there is a ROM in the Speedo, once its recorded- its permanment. That is unless you can flash the Rom (if there is a ROM in the Speedo to begin with)

Nice work man. I think you planned that trip on purpose to max out the speedo, from the way you were talkin'!

maybe you can roll it backwars till you get to 0, like iun that movie
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
            And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
            RIP Marc

There is no solution I know of to reset it, although I have heard of some outfit that supposedly can out in Cali (but the cost to do so, a few years back, was in the $160 range -- an used cluster is typically cheaper than that). It is firmware based (removing the power from the ROMs makes zero difference, ditto zapping it with over-voltage -- otherwise bikes with bad batteries or bad charging systems would reset it, both a violation of DOT requirements for odo's).

Fortunately, the trip odometers continue to work, so you can keep track of distance for service, pending replacement of the speedo cluster.

              Cheers

Theres a guy out by me that can do it. We had car with a bad speedo and he came out and switched the old mileage onto the new speedo. Im sure a bike would be the same.

One question? If I change my cluster and get one from Ebay, will the odometer the display be km or miles?? may sound stupid but have to ask!!!! I just wrote to Suzuki canada and waiting for the answer who knows maybe will get a new one, but I 'm not holding my breath!!

Depends . If it's off a Canadian Kat it'll be kms, a US Kat then it'll be miles.
