  • Oil level indicator

    Hello Katana Riders!

Just purchased a 2001 Katana 600. I love this bike! A great stress reliever.
Did an oil change this evening with (Amsoil 10-40 Synthetic) and also replaced the oil filter (HifloFiltro HF 138). When checking the oil level I warm the bike up and then check the level after a few minutes. The level reads just below the F line. After the bike cools down the level reads right on the F line. Is this considered to much oil or just right?

    Dave

That's fine, as long as you are checking it with the bike level (not on the sidestand). If it reads full when it is on the sidestand, then it is WAY overfilled.

welcome, oil sounds good , but dont go up more than that. notice that if you are on F while on the center stand you will go slightly more up if you read it when its on both wheels
