  • Well I'll save the in tank pump for the time being and possibly modify a future tank for it to fit. Picked up an inline pump rate up to 80psi for the time being (for anyone thinking that may be too much, the adjustable fuel pressure regulator is what determines the actual pressure to the fuel rail). An to solve TheSteve's problem of the reverse throttle on the bodies themselves, I decided to switch to R1 right hand controls, throttle tube, and dual throttle cable assembly. Just need to modify the cable mounts themselves to match the throttle body end, that and hope they are long enough.

Scratch the modifying the throttle cables, for a couple dollars more Motion Pro will customize them for me. Just need to figure out the dimensions.

    • Well the pre600 boots fit perfectly onto the throttle bodies. However I did run into a hangup. Cant say it was unexpected, but the throttlebodies do not match up. Instead of being to short as with the GSXR throttlebodies, they are infact too far apart between the innermost bodies. The two side bodies match up perfectly though, so it is just a matter of figuring out if I can shorten the gap.

      • By my measurements, I've determined the carb vs. throttlebody spacing to be a difference of 14mm (86mm vs. 100mm). That in itself can be rectified very easily by shaving down the extensions that meet between the bodies. (There are 2 connecting points, identified in this picture where the long bolts are sticking out.)

However, there is only roughly 10-12mm space to play with for the throttle springs as they are. ( only took a very rough measurement on this). However I am confident it should not take much to modify them slightly to fit even closer together.

        • wow looks good. would it be possible to just connect the center throttle assembly's? (dont know whats its really called)

          • If you are referring to where the throttle cable meets the bodies, they are connected. That is how they work together.

            • Well got my new blue leds in for my tach from v-leds.com. Look pretty nice, but would like to find a better tach face. I'm thinking the tach I have is a pre 750 due to it being larger than the speedo that came with my bike as well as the redline (where the numbers on the tach itself turn red) is above 12,000 rpm. If anyone may have an extra aftermarket face please pm me.

              • I believe I have come up with a relatively simple solution for the throttle cable assembly. I will post up pics of what I mean after work. If I cut the tab inserted into the opposite side in half and tach it in more of an upwards L shape, then straighten that opposite bracket so that it is straight up and down; that should net me all the space I will need to move the throttlebodies closer together, while still being completely functional.

Also needing to find out if I need the ISC Actuator, at the bottom of one of the throttlebodies. If I don't then great, if I do I need to find out where the 3rd hose coming out of it runs to.

                • A is what I plan to cut in half and weld coming away from the throttlebodies. B is the bracket I want to straighten in the same direction. That should give me the space I need to close the gap on the throttlebodies.

                          • Well, cut my mid pipe today. Got it looking just about how I had it pictured in my head, but this can is too loud lol. Dropped the Db Dawg in just to see if it would make a noticable difference. Sure did. Now gotta figure the best way of securing it in there. Was thinking mount it normally the way it is supposed to (with the inner bolts it came with), then for some added force to keep it in epoxy or jb weld around the outter ring.
The vid is it running without the Db Dawg. Seems to still be running a tad lean, thanks PO for the stage 3 Dynojunk.. Oh well the sooner I get hopping on this EFI the sooner I can start cussing out my laptop instead of the carbs lol.
