    92' GSXFighter 600. picked this up for 500. 2nd gear is out, but i just skip it so its cool for now. so far only replaced the headlight, waiting on parts to rebuild the rear caliper an replace the rear rotor an what not. about to try using led strips for the turn signals.
    let me know what ya'll think. an if you have any advice on wiring up the leds, I know Im supposed to use a different relay for the flash timing, but do I need resistors etc...

    It would look nicer with the speed triple triump style headlight imo.

      never heard of it but might look it up sometime. that headlight is just off some random yamaha crusier that was at the boneyard. finally finished rebuilding the rear caliper and installing a new rotor. back on the street finally. thinking of readjusting the clutch tho.

        just took a look at it an thats a negative on the speed triple headlight. i'm not big on dual headlights on a naked bike, just not my thing. seen some that look good, but ill stick with my old cruiser bucket for now.

          ok, adjusted my clutch... weird thing is i went from having no second gear to having second gear intermitently... hmm i thought the gear was stripped. anyone experienced this problem where sometimes second works an sometimes not??? if you have an its been fixed or if you know what could be the problem please send some wisdom my way

            looking good. I like that youve painted the exhaust. Im thinking of doing it to my stock.

              it was actually painted when i picked it up, how can i tell what kind it is... i know the can is v&h, but not sure bout the header.
              plus need to find out bout the jet kit, the guy said it was a stage 3, but from reading threads round here i dont believe they made a stage 2 or 3 for kats

              oh an ill put up some updated pics of the bike now that its roadworthy either tonight or tomorrow

                They do have multiple stage jet kits for the kat. I'm not sure how to tell, but I'm sure someone will chime in about that.
                As for the pipe If the header Is connected to the Muffler then chances are that is a Vance & Hines header also. The kat 6 had a dual exhaust stock not a single.
                Other then that, nice bike and read around the forum some more. You'd be supprised what you find out.

                  well the can is riveted to the header so ill assume its all v&h. interesting info on the jet kit matter, i was sure i read a thread on here sayin they only made a stage one for kats.

                    If the can is V&H, then most likely the header is as well for them to match up without mods.

                    Pre kats (like yours) have the option for stage 1 and stage 3 kits from Dynojunk... Post kats do not have stage 3 kits available.

                    "stage" kits are general relevant terms, and are not specific jet sizes.

                    Stage 1 = slightly larger jets and adjustable needles + maybe an aftermarket street exhaust.

                    Stage 2 = larger jets and adjustable needles + either a race exhaust or an aftermarket higher flowing air filter setup.

                    Stage 3 = much larger jets and adjustable needles + both a race exhaust and aftermarket high flowing air filters.

                    Stage 7 = Highly modified engines with all of the components of Stage 3.

                      I like to paint all or most of the parts I cannot get to with the polish.
                      This keeps them protected from the elements a bit,
                      looking well
                      if your not living on the edge
                      you take up too much room

                            thanks unholy. hoping to do a b12 shock swap, new fork springs, and new paint this winter. unless i get sent to georgia for new mos training

                              Just put the b12 shock on today. definitely a better ride. just by sight I cant tell the rear has been raised. but I can feel it when I get on her, thats what counts.
