  • I did the Poor man's exhaust mod.

It didn't take to long to do and I love the sound. A nice deep rumble at idle to about 4K then starts to mellow out at cruising speeds.

LOL all this did was make me want to start saving for a jet kit and a true exhaust setup as close to this sound as I can get...

LOL it sounds like the 750 grew a few CC's

It does add a nice rumble at low revs and if you like the sound of that mod you'll love the sound of a slip-on (I did the poor man's then got a scorpion)

I believe they're talking about running straight pipe. They just go to autozone(or many other places i.e. ebay) and but a exhaust tip and put it on in place of the exhaust...

          Not a straight pipe.
It's the stock exhaust that bypasses one of the baffles to get a slightly louder deeper sound while costing nothing but a few dremmel cut-off wheels.
It retains the stock exhaust look.
There is a detailed link with pictures and instructions in the exhaust section.

I've read about this before on other bikes but I don't think I've seen any pics or write-ups here.

              here's my mod .....

I cut about a 1/3 of my cannister off, re-packed it, and welded the end cap back on. I'll post pics later. I'm pretty happy with the look of it and I'm loving the sound.

I havent seen that mod posted on this site?? didnt find it with search either.
easiest mod I was aware of was removing the inner weld rings in the headers.

It sucks, got it done this weekend and a cold front came in. Low 30's first part of this week. I am hoping the weather gets to at least high 40's by Thursday. I don't mind the cold going to work, but I would like it a bit warmer coming home....
