  • Changed oil, new prake pads.

Last night I put in a fresh oil filter and dropped in about 4.75 quarts of fresh 10w40 oil. Also, pulled the old metal backings from the front brakes and put in the new pads.

    It was a good night.

    • yesterday i was able to road test my new Progressive fork springs. they did great soaking up the bumps. the fork oil i used was sythetic power steering fluid [10W]. after cleaning the carbs and shimming the needles with the washer that was on top, it still is cold natured. at full throttle it's okay but part throttle/idle it's still lean. any suggestion as what pilot jet to use[has stock jets]? raising the needles helped my popping on decel.

      • Went for a spin on my new 750 Kat

I couldn't wait any longer, high 20's and sorta sunny is good enough! Had a nice little 20-mile ride, first time riding the bike. Wow, a little faster and more stable than my GS400; this summer is going to be fun!

                  • The other day I ordered all the rubber parts I will need to replace on my 600's carbs.
Today, I got a confirmation email regarding the order.
Earlier this afternoon I made a little make shift rolling cart for the 750 engine I pulled out, so I can easily (though the caster wheels SUCK) roll it around the garage until I'm ready to disassemble it.

                    • Took the bike for a quick ride to the next town over - had to run an errand. Bike had been sitting for four weeks and that was too long. It was only 32 degrees, but at least the snow was off the ground. Felt good to be back riding, even if it wasn't for very long
