Katana 750 or 600?

    The reality is that they are virtually neck-n-neck to above 100 mph with stock gearing on each. There really isn't that much difference, because the 750 has a lower compression ratio and different gear ratio that offsets the majority of the displacement difference. Top-end, the 750 will hit 144 where the 600 will peter out about 10 mph lower.

    The real differences are ergonomic and economic. The 750 has taller handlebars with an extra layer of rubber under the risers that hold the handlebar, to suck up more road vibration (but consequently, just a hair less tight in the front end feedback/steering). The 750 also gets a different form of footpegs for the rider that have more weight and a more isolated mounting system.

    I've owned both of the 98+ models and keep returning to the 600's...
