  • Katana 750 or 600?

Hello everyone I am new here and this is my first post.

I am looking at purchasing my first Kat. I see a lot of 600's for sale, but I am worried that I will out grow it too fast and wish that I had purchased a 750. Is there anything that I should know about the 750's as opposed to the 600's?

    Thanks in advance!

More power and just a tiny bit of more weight. The better of the two, performance wise.........I have a 600 and have no complaints though.

i would say it depends on your experience. don't just buy a 70 because you dont want to "outgrow" a bike but because you are at a skill level to properly handle one.

If you find a good deal on a 750 get it, otherwise get the 600. Can't really go wrong with either one though.

My 750 is just right for me. 5'11" and 170 lbs.

considering the price of gas/petrol the 600 is the winner , on the other side of the coin the 750 has the power!! you cant go wrong though!

If memory serves me, I read the 600 is a smoother running engine at speed. Same size bike though, 600/750.

Heck I've had almost 20 bikes from Italian to Japanese, this 600 Kat is plenty of bike especially with the 5 degree advance. This $3k bike is more than half the cost and double the fun of the Futura I had.

I bought my first Kat in 1991, brand new, a red 600. No pics though.

I've got a 750 and I'm a new rider.. Although I have a lot of self control so I know to be easy until my skill improves.. However I chose the 750 over 600 because im 6'4 and 300lbs.. 600 would be REALLY slow for me..

Thanks for all of the input. I am 6-2 and 220. I think that the 750 would be best for me.

I agree. I went from 600 to 750. Both are great bikes.

                        I'm 6'2" 190 and I went from a 750 gix to the 600 Kat.
Don't count the 600 out cause I did at first till I rode the 600, I felt it had plenty of power, it's no slug.

I poured spot remover on my dog. Now he's gone.

Yeah I went from my last bike being a gixxer 1k to my 600 kat but it has plenty of power to get you in trouble still.
