      md86 just read your post abot resodering the wires gonna try that when my other sending unit getd here. Now i know why i was getting bad gas milage fuel never shut off going the carbs that is probably why the bike was backfiring and has a studder on the tank off thrittle real responsive at low rpms man im glad i found this website i'll be member for life even if i don't keep riding katanas

        Sounds like you got the full exhaust for a 98+ and are trying to mount it on a pre-98. Swapping oil pans and oil-pan pickups is the common solution.

          came from a 94 750 with regular oil pan

            Sender has NOTHING to do with your running problems . It's just a float arm that sends voltage telling the gauge what to reprot . Petcock COULD , though .
            I am a fluffy lil cuddly lovable bunny , dammit !
