ok I feel this is becomming tire size thread number 87 000 000

this is how the general response is when people ask about 170 tire on a 4.5" rim:

its not safe , the tire will touch the wingarm slightly, the handling will become poor.
go with 160 max and you will be fine. then again there are some exceptions. I know that conti makes even 170 or 180 tires that wil fit a 4.5" and is designed for it , you will have to check out which model that is.

A 170 on a 3.5” rim? Good god who thought that was a good idea?

Very good choice of tires. You will not be disapointed on them.

cant wait to order my GSXR1100 engine, i'm pumped. Probably in about a month. While im waiting im gunna try to get my new shoes on there, and a b12 shock. I like how yours turned out =). I also need to make up my mind on what i want to do with the front end. If you look at my build page i put up a pic of a bike i saw online, and i like the front end. Let me know what you think.

I AM A COMPLETE IDIOT. One thing i didn't do when i got this bike last week was check the tire pressure. Ugh.. don't laugh..... front psi 20lbs, rear psi 8lbs. Put em both at 32 today and everything went away. Am still getting the new tires, a steering stabilizer, and lower my handlebars, but i cant believe i missed that.

Lol yea that could cause problems. And dont waste you time with looking for a stabilizer, they never made them for kats and with the kats geometry you really dont need it.
