  • Screw this shop...

I got the bike back finally after 10 weeks and i pull up today to pick up the bike after i told them to put it back together because they were taking way too long on porting and polish my cylinder head. Anyways the guy pulls the bike out and i notice no license plate and ask him where it was and he said he forgot and went back and put it on the bike and i also notice they didnt install my chrome fender brace and its missing two bolts and i go into the shop and ask where it is and they have to go digging in the shop to find it and i told i would install it and i notice again when he brings the bike back out that there is no toggle switch to my LED kit so he pulls the bike back in and a 1hr and 1/2 later he comes out saying he broke the switch and hes putting on a new one it till take 25 mins so he pulls the bike out again for the final time as they are locking up and drive out on to the road and go about a mile or two up the road and start to brake for a red light and i notice NO REAR BRAKE so i limp the 2 more miles back home and look at the rear caliper and rear disc and notice the caliper is not even bolted to the rear disc as pictured below and as i am checking this i notice im missing like 4-6 bolts on my fairings and two of them are the bolts under my tail light as pictured below, now im probably going to take it to the dealership i had work done at last year they were honest and quick and cheap to go over the stupid *** shops mistake and then im going to foot them the bill.

Shop name, complete address, telephone number?

So if someone else starts thinking about using them, they can spot it in the thread here.

Meanwhile, port & polish a Kat? Harrumph!

        Cheers,

That's absolutely rediculous! I have to know..... How long did they have it, and how much did it cost?

Dude that sucks. I couldn't stand taking my bike back after getting my valve adj and noticed an oil leak. I would be thoroughly ticked with all that.
Can't blame me for something I don't remember.

Oh come now, the pre98 600's head isn't above needing a little help...... Not saying they should be hogged out like a dragbike, but a little roof work, and maybe even raising and flattening the floor a little bit, might just work out well.

The pre98 750's on the other hand........... yeah, they don't need to be touched unless the 750 head is sitting on something at least 1000cc's!

IMHO, the big need on the kats is the weld-seam on the inside of the headers (drop the header, grab the dremel and grind it out); port & polish on the block & chamber is just overkill and won't really net you anything (spend the $$ on a bore-over from WiseCo if you're going to go that route, getting more umph out of the stock motor).

Instructions on how to port-n-polish your header weld seams here on my site:

i didnt even mention the problem after i noticed the rear brake was out a further bit up the road after i noticed the rear brake was out, the bike all of sudden when i was in 4th just starts reving to the redline and about to shoot the bike out at a high rate of speed so i pull the clutch in and check another gear and neutral and it still was doing it as i was pulling to an intersection so i had to hit the kill switch and cruised it in a driveway

Someone should start an "Angie's List" Thread for shops, It'd make a good/needed sticky.

Wow that link is excellent CP. I think my next project is taking the headers off for some dremel work.

Actually, lets see if I can get my hands on a 1100 exhaust. I will be the ginny pig to see if that exhaust fits.

you're not gonna be a ginny pig for anything, I've done it with a Bandit 1200 header, that will fit.
