  • Hello

Hi all, just found this board, looked around, seems like a nice little place
A couple of months ago I decided to get a bike, something I've been putting off for quite some time. Since I am a total newbie to bikes I figured I'd get something used so I don't worry too much about dropping, etc, plus I didn't want to lose too much money if I didn't like riding for any reason. Ended up buying a 2006 Katana 750 (seemed like a decent deal with 9K miles for just under $3K).

Back to today ... I find that the only times I drive is when I need to carry something large/heavy, love riding overall and love the bike (I've tried a few more since, but I really like the fit of Katana). So I am definitely keeping it for quite some time and being in Florida ... the season is pretty much 365 days/year.

Now with all that said ... can someone help me out with a bit of advice? The bike had no owners manual and I couldn't find one online (found this place googling though ). What do I do for maintenance? Keep in mind, that's my first bike and I know next to nothing about them. Is there a place where I can buy/get the manual? Or perhaps someone can just recommend what needs to be done and how often.

And secondly ... I figured I could use a few parts to brighten up the looks. Like the windshield is really murky/yellowish and perhaps a few other things. Are there any online stores you guys use?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

P.S. Oh yeah, sorry about the trashcan in a pic ... I promise I'll take a better one once I get the bike in a better shape

              Welcome
For the windscreen, try using a headlight restoration system. I've had really good luck buffing with Blue Magic and a buffing disk held in a drill press.
As for the trash can, it doesn't look like a bad trash can at all!
