  • First big kat.

    Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I've been riding for 5 years on my cbt and have just recently passed my full A1 licence (Cheap)

I bought a GSX600F as i've always liked the look and thought it would a good choice for a first 600. I bought my 2001 with 24000 on the clock and it had seen better days. I spend a good few days with a toothbrush cleaning and painting and after a full service got it closer to how i'd like.

I'm taking the big Kat to get is balls cut tomorrow as i am on a restricted licence and was wondering if anyone had riden gsxf restricted and could give me any reviews or advice. I'd be interested in the normal performance reviews but more importantly how does the bike run?

    Thanks

    Loaf.

Welcome to KR. A big kat would be an 1100. And the 600 is underpowered enough already, what do you mean by getting it restricted?

Thanks for the warm welcome. When you pass your full licence in the uk. If the vehicle you pass on is less than a 500 you are restricted to 33bhp for the first 2 years. The bike will be restricted at the carb using a series of washers.

I've heard the bike is identical to 9000rpn, but I wanted a review from someone with personal experience. I believe a bandit restricted will still do 110, does the gsxf use the same engine?

I think the restriction kits go in the exhaust not the carbs.
And I'm sure that it was you only have to be restricted for one year, or until you turn 21.. Have they changed it now?
