Well, was able to swap the post wheels in with only a couple hiccups. I am definitely sold on pilot power tires. Much better handling and feel than what I was running on the pre rims.
awesome, did the r1 integrated tail light yesterday. looks fantastic, just want to make a bracket to keep the led circuits level. was wondering how it would turn out considering the tailight itself is red, but the yellow leds really show through, i was suprised.
what are you using for the air filter. i got a pre kat frame with a post engine and i want to run it with out an air box and have individual filters. is this what you r doing? how does it run
Interesting^... So did you use an actual R1 tail light or one of those ebay specials?
just used the cheapest one i could find on ebay, brand new for 10$. took the lense an back apart, gutted the circuit boards an wiring, wired it straight into the tail harness. hardest part for me was figuring out the wiring on the kat due to the po screwin with it. other than that only thing i have to do to it is fabricate some kinda bracket to hold everything still inside the lense, but that looks extremely simple.

my filters are just some cheap filter that was on it when i got it, the extensions pushin them farther back are homemade and made it a bit easier to tune.
i wouldnt suggest using pods unless you know what your doing tuning wise or have a good friend that does, cause they can be a pia. not always tho.
if you are gonna go this route an want to know what i suggest as a filter...........just remember anything can work... with a little work. so if your handy, don't be limited by what is available for your bike... hmmm something like a streetfighter gem of wisdom right there.
goodluck

Reason: Automerged Doublepost
update- just ordered factory pro shift kit and ignition advancer for the new engine, hope to get racetech springs and cartridge emulators next check, need to find new seals and bushings at a decent price.
Finally found some time to strip the frame off the replacement engine, now waiting for the weather to become bad enough that I cant ride anymore before starting the transplant.
original motor is out, gonna take the frame into work moday for a degreasing and pressure bath before putting in the new motor. thought about going ahead and powdercoating the frame this winter but still cant find any good deals around here for it. so may just wait until next winter for that. mainly just wanna be sure that I can get this motor running right an that there are no oil leaks an whatnot.
What a tough week... stopped smoking last Thursday, and then one week later exactly the only other smoker in my family passed away... We miss you Grandma Orletta.. may you rest in peace.
