                • you could always swap your shock to a post98 750 shock and if you have enough funds send it to Tmod for some goodies. or looks wise you could do a hugger or see if sporty_drew still has his undertail for sale

                  looking good btw
im glad to see that post go to good use. it looks like you ended up pretty well with some of extra parts you have sold so far.

                    • Will come it a little extra mulla mid next month for this Army AT I am doing for 3 weeks.
I am seriously considering what Arsenic recommended a few weeks back. Upgrading the carbs to 34mm RS flat slides, for more properly utilizing a pod set up. I'm estimating 7-9 hundred for the carbs themselves. Could someone, who is aware of what all is involved, inform me of anything else I may need to do the swap. I would like to be able to collect everything I need to begin with so I can just take an afternoon to swap and tune them, and not realize I'm missing something halfway through.

                      Thanks ya'll,

I have embarked on the road of modding. Even if you BOLT ON new parts to a bike, there will be someone somewhere that has the same combination. With the Kat, you have a unique platform. Sure, some parts might be from other bikes, but no one will have the same combination. It will be truly yours and unique.

                        • something to ponder if your spending $700 on carbs for a stock post98 600 just to get pods working correctly for how much gain ?, why not just swap a bigger motor 750/1100 in for roughly the same cost as those flat sides and push near 100hp with the 750 and 120hp with the 1100. if i was you, knowing what i know now about basically stock 600 motors(motors that haven't had internal work) no matter what you do for mods unless you go full arsenic. more then likely you won't exceed over 100hp and end up spending close to what a 750 or 1100 motor would cost. arsenic's 600 motor is far from a stock 600 and needs flat sides carbs. if your intent is to keep the 600 motor for a long time and i would just do all the basic bolt on mods. i would stick with a full aftermarket exhaust or slip-on,fp jet kit or ivans jet kit, fp advancer, fp shift kit, different sprocket setup for your taste and gsxr750 cams. get rid of the pods and go back to stock airbox and oem filter. i bet your bike would run great with that setup. i would guess you would be in the 80-85rwhp range if your a/f ratio is good throughout the powerband. i'm basing this off my 90 600 motors dyno results with those same mods except at the time i had a dj kit instead of fp kit and was running crazy rich and had crazy flat spots from the KN and DynoJet setup and put down 78rwhp on dj dyno in a state of the art dyno room used for R&D at a very reputable exhaust manufacture in the sport bike world Brock's Performance Exhausts.

and yes arsenic is the guy for carbs thats for sure, he's the Rainman of carbs. i didnt listen to him about dj kits and kn filters or pods when i first joined 4 years ago and started to my mod my kat. i thought i would be the one who could find someone that would get them to work correctly. 2 dyno sessions later proved i should have listened. yeah def..definitely definitely should have listened. yeah definitely should have to listen arsenic. definitely.

btw decent long drive but still good deal with all the extra sell-able parts and its "roughly" the same cost as those flatside

                          • I completely understand what your saying Mike. Honestly its not a search for hp for me (yet), more of a see what all I can do to it kind of thing. When it does come to a point where I want the bigger motor hp, then most of my mods will be able to swap over to the bigger motor.
And yes Arsenic is great with carbs, he is the one who got me interested in the flatside swap.

ps. the 1100 came with flatsides factory didn't they? Not sure if I read that or am just remembering something else. if so that may be a possibility.

                              • no the 1100 didn't come with flatsides from the factory. 1100 kats had 34mm cv's and the gsxr1100 might have had 38mm or 40mm cv's
