Bike is running!
Well how could it resist? Took it around the block, now the short list.
1. Get bike running..
Has become:
1. Get bike running
2. Change Oil
3. Synch Carbs.
4. Bleed Brakes
5. Align rear wheel.
6. Check petcock.
7. Check floats.
Just as I was about the really crack the throttle open it coughed and died.
I know I was on "ON" so I wonder if the petcock is acting up. New vacuum hose so that isn't it. Then I checked the oil level after returning home and found it was way too full, yup gas in the oil. Before some of you razz me for not checking this after having it sit a while, let me remind you I didn't have to admit it... I admit it so that newbies know even the great ones miss things. I put up a chalk board in the garage, the memory obviously isn't what it used to be...

Filled it with oil. Synched the carbs, Cheeky monkey started right up for me..
Refilled the carb sticks, they haven't been used for a few years, Carbs were pretty close, sounds good now that it's synched. Bled the front brakes. Got a bit if air out of the left side. That explains the sponginess. Reworked the tank mount. With no battery box the mount sits low, it was also sitting back for some reason, so the airbox, tank and fairing mounts weren't lining up..

8. Lean out FA screws.
9. Find thick washer for rear axle.
10. Ride it!

13. Clean calipers, rotors, pads
14. Install various cotter pins.
So I took it out for a little ride today, filled the gas tank. Inflated the tires, gee it turns now! It's running rough below 5K, but once above that.. Sweet and smooth! Grabbed I35 for about 1/2 and it sung at 10K! Before I knew it I was doing the ton. Got it back home and looked it over. A few loose screws, better than I hoped.

You know a co-worker has been using one of those grip strengtheners since January... Now I know why! My left hand got weak!

From 4K to red line it goes like a raped ape.. Holy cow! I forgot what a rush the Kat can be over 7K.. Still sounds almost like a misfire below 3K..
