one other question, is there a difference between a 'busa front rim and and th kat's?
Yes. The part numbers are different. The Busa rotors look like flat carriers so I'd guess the center hub is wider. But the other guys here will clarify the differences.
I can't remeber if the Bandit guys said they have used the Busa wheel or if the Bandit wheel would work. The calipers are supposed to be the same. This info is from the discussions at Maximum Suzuki.
This way you can source from other bikes and not just zero in on the Busa parts.
what you can do is go to ronayers.com or bikebandit and look at the different fiche and part numbers for bearings, also go to http://www.goallballs.com/home.asp they will give you the info you need for bearings. ronayers.com has a nice cross refference for all bikes the part fits on.
if you have a pre kat like mike and I have you have to go with a speed sensor if you go with a gixer or busa setup. A yami will work also using the same bearings as the katana, so I have been told on other sites.
Let me remind you that this is a great and inexpensive mod if you can get some deals off ebay.

there are many things to consider, suspension spring rate, length of forks(get as close to katana setup if you don't want a very aggressive ride). The biggest consideration is available for a good $$$$$/price.

The most "plug-in-play" option would be the 1993-1995 GSX-R750 front end for the reasons I mentioned before. But just trying to find everything from that model might be hard.
But to stick with one model would be the best.
I'm going with that GSX-R triple and a R1 front end. However, I have found that the ZX14 forks would be better as they are longer, but the wheel has the wrong styling.
I suppose a pm or email would work if you guys want more information. I have a few connections and mike's bike is going way, way out there with all the mods.
A 1127 transplant
gixer headlights
busa front and rear suspension
post 98 kat gauge cluster
post 98 rear wheel
many more crazy things going on, including a new frame because old subframe was bent and finally cracked/broke the main fairing.
The list is way longer than I am posting and the modifications will go on for atleast another month/year
If Mike finally decides to stop putting on other things it should be done in February of 2009
What is truely funny is the fact that KatBusa, my bike is sitting in garage in one piece waiting for warm weather.
