If you can find some good deals on ebay it can cost less than $1,000 for parts, including engine. As for labor that remains to be seenTDA Racing/Motorsports

i have a good start on the labor right now with thazkat but if you do the work yourself and part out everything you don't use it could be as low as a grand like thazkat said but my best guess if you did everything i did and parted everything out it would be like 2,500 for everything(labor, parts, paint and pc) and if you didnt part anything out and paid for labor, it could be as much as 4k or more. so its kinda important to part out what you don't need or use anymore.Last edited by mreedohio; 12-29-2008, 12:24 AM.Chrome Project Part 1

i will be cleaning up the frame, won't necessarily be repainting the whole frame but i will make sure it looks clean with everything installed. i wanted to pc the frame but that was before the 1127 came in the picture. so who could blame me, pc a frame or get a 1127 for labor basically once i get it all parted outChrome Project Part 1

So the 1127 engine looked like it has a hydraulic clutch, did the Kat sprocket cover mate properly? And the cable clutch mechanism will operate the clutch?
Did you use the upper steering head bearing from Twin Works Factory Racing? Or did you press out the stem?

yes the post98 sprocket cover fits, and yes i used the twin works bearing.

Cool.
I was considering the Busa triple but I concluded in my research that the 93-95 GSX-R750 triple has the same bearings as my Kat. Has the same steering stops, the stem is the same height and can use the same ignition. And so I went that route.
I figure less work is good.

So let me get this straight... You used a 97-06' busa front end, and the steering stem fits with the Kat lower bearings and upper bearings from TWFR. is that pretty much it to get the steering stem to fit?

yep, that is it!
stem is the right height and your kat ignition will go in after you oblong the holes. I did the samething to KatBusa!TDA Racing/Motorsports

And the steering stops need to be fabricated.
How about the steering lock with the Kat ignition and the Busa top triple?

mine has no lock but I am going to work on that with mike's. the stock busa stops get removed and I have some nice stops made up. Even a simple bolt/nut will workTDA Racing/Motorsports
