I met some people that ride top of the line bikes. They looked at my bike and laughed. I later that evening found out they owend the bike for 2-3 years, had close to 5 thousand miles on it. My has 18,000 and i only ride in summer, and first 2 seasons avoided a rainy day which was half of summer =). I otherwise ride spetialy now, rain or shine =). Some people who get their parents to buy them a bike which they know little about, to them its just a kawasaki gixxer1000 turbo and they ride to a bar or hang out to show of and take it home, i bet they never in one day gone past 100 miles of riding. I dont let it bother me. I ride what i have, and when i feel safer and get more money, i might step up to somthing with more output. For now, cat more then enough of a bike for me.guts and glory

That's funny cause I had some Ducatistas looking down their noses at me with their how-dare-you-park-that-thing-next-to-me look. I'd need a second job to pay for one of those things. But I couldn't help but notice how shiny and "unridden" their bikes looked. Me and my Kat were just coming off a 100+ mile run in the twisties and were pretty grimy. And that's what it's all about.
I thought that attitude would evaporate after high school. But never doubt the determination of someone with an inferiority complex to prove how much better than you they are by telling you you've lost at a game which you didn't even know you were playing.

If I had a $100 for every Porsche I out ran/drove in my $8000 Toyota,
I could have paid for one in cash...
