Hey don't worry. A lot of KR members don't have a Kat anymore. And don't worry, a Hayabusa is just a big freakin' Katana anyway.

Yeah Apparently you've never ridden one? It's not a GSXR1300, it's a GSX1300R. It should be a GSX1300F, but Suzuki can't have their flagship bike be a Tuna. They even do the wind tunnel test between the Busa and the Katana in the same wind tunnel.

GSX1250fa is way sexier IMO but it's kind've apples to oranges

busa is way sportier and more aggressive position
gsx1250fa is more of a sport touring/comfortable bike

i have only ridden a busa though so can't give a fair comparison

I would take a Busa over a GSX1250F 10 times out of 10, but that is just my opinion.
My other opinion is I don't want a Busa at all.
But congrats for the OP all the same.

Anyone who thinks a busa is just a fat Katana obviously hasn't ridden one. And these GSX1300R's routinely eat GSXR's for breakfast. True, they don't turn as well as the GSXR's in the twisties, but they turn well enough to have knee dragging fun and when you get to a straight away, look out!

Er, it is just a fat katana with a huge motor.

There's more in common between the kat and the busa than there is between the busa and the gsxr.

Just out of curiosity, how's the insurance rate, compared to the Kat? Or the GSXR? For example, when I was looking at buying my first bike (the 2001 Kat), the insurance company I talked to said that as a guide, anything with an "R" in it typically had a 300% surcharge for being a "superbike".

I also realize that insurance cost vary greatly, so I'm thinking relative terms...

On the busa, you are paying the CC's penalty.... .all 1300 of em.

The Busa was uncomfortable to me, almost as bad as the GSXRs. Congrats on the wife approving a new bike though.

PS, claiming you can beat me in a straight line means absolutely nothing to me, be it in a car or on a bike. I hate people who want to drag race me. Come to an autocross event and then show me you can win. A 600cc bike with a skilled rider will run all over a liter or 1300cc bike all day in the twisties.
