tapping top of helmet

quick question. i passed three guys on rockets to day and i waved at them but they tapped on their helmets. was just wondering what this meant or if they were just being douche bags

i do the headlight thing to, but my brother says that when he sees me in his rear view mirror, it always looks like im flashing him because of hitting littlebumps in the road. i make a siren motion above my head and a flat hand toward the ground to signal slow down

I flash my headlights for oncoming cars to alert them to slow down, and tap my helmet for riders. Just a courtesy thing.
