Mine are run from battery, with a toggle switch. There is an in-line fuse.

I currently have a 5 amp fuse in there.
that way I can park it and leave the lights on....

I went to the scrap yard and got weather pack plugs from a bunch of wrecked cars to wire it all up and 18awg wire. I soldered all the connections and used sealed shrink wrap so its all water proof. It is all grounded to the frame on the air box bracket.

I was planning on doing it the same way, I have a couple rolls of 18g wire already and shrink wrap tubing set to go.

I have a question about the LED strips I see in your pic hardlydangerous...
You can cut them off by the looks of it, but is it possible to cut off the last line and re-solder more wire where you cut it off and have two small lights out of one?? Or have you tried it?
