Givi luggage question for pre 98 Kat 750s

Looking at giviusa.com is quite confusing. I found this chart

GSX750 F Katana (88-90) F478 Y302 + N150 Y302 + N140 D141S
GSX750F Katana (01-02) F518 No No No
GSX750F Katana (98-00) F518 Y518+ N150


So I have a few questions. First of all Can I do a 3 luggage setup on my pre 98?

Also is there a difference between 98-00 and 01-02 newer kats?


Lastly anyone have any experience with hard luggage on pre98 750s? How different is the 750 from the larger kats, from days gone by.

For the 98-02 Kats, it goes like this:

PL518 or PL525 racks will fit for side-mount cases. PL518 is all black, PL525 is supposed to be color-matched at the rear passenger footpeg bracket to match the new footpeg support bracket color (silver); in terms of fitment, they are interchangable (I have a PL518 on my '01, which calls for a PL525).

The '03-05 Kats take the PL530, which implies the position of the rear grab rail for the '03 and later (new tail) Kats has been moved.

You should be able to find the applicable rack numbers at www.givi.it

As for pre-98's, no clue off the top of my head, but if it's available, it should be listed at their site.

(A) The rack for the 88 - 97 is unchanged for the Kat 600 (Givi PN 488F). See their site and x-ref by the "My Motorcycle" link which lets you drill down by make & year.

(B) Rear Passenger footpeg support bracket changes in '01 (from welded-on black-powdercoated part of the subframe in the 98-00 model years to a silver bolt-on bracket in '01+). Italians being italians, fashion conscious, the coloration difference is enough to warrant the change.

cant find any luggage for pre gsx750f

hi sorry to jump on a old thread but i have a gsx750f pre 1990 model and as it's a sports tourer i had a look at givi web site.....mmmmm

maybe they should sell the pre 750f owners a givi plastic bottle so we can go touring with it in our pocket.
money talks how can they supply suzuki gs500's and not a gsx750f

well next time i might have to consider buying a newer bike instead of givi luggage
