curiously enough, cycle gear had a catalog that included factory pro. normally i would not go through them, but with my glut of gift cards from family this last christmas, it made it worth my while.. even with tax and whatnot, to special order the factory pro ignition advancer and jet kit from them. they do not have ivan's, thoughjoey b.

CP, I'm am straight up saying that I wholeheartedly disagree with that. If we were talking about DynoJunk, I'd be right with you. IMO Factory Pro is just as good, if not better, then Ivan's kit. I understand your feelings exactly, which is why I sold a brand new 600 Ivan's kit to you and bought a Factory Pro kit. That was actually 2 kits ago. Then I decided to go with 36mm carbs, now I have a FP 98+ 750 kitLast edited by arsenic; 02-24-2009, 12:33 AM.

The FactoryPro kit is far better than the DynoJet (we can agree to that), and it's in some senses it may be more tunable than the Ivan's because of the jetting assortments included (which is good if change cams, bores or make other drastic changes at that mechanical level).
But I continue to feel that the Ivan's is the best choice available for 95% of the street Katana riders, based on the ease of installation and my own post-install dyno runs with EGA's that showed it simply hitting exactly where it needs to be in terms of F/A ratios for max-torque on both 2 of my 98+ Kat 600's and a Kat 750. As long as a kit hits those F/A ratios perfectly, then it is exactly what's called for. And if it does that every time without any post-install tuning, that's what most riders will want.
