  • Have a question about my Kat.

I am looking at going and riding the dragon in may with my dad and was wondering what kind of windscreen you guys/gals would recommend. I am 6'5 and when I put 500 miles on my moms bandit with the stock windshield I was feeling it. I need something that will kick the wind up over my head if possible or pretty close. I looked at the zero gravity windscreens but those seem to be more useful for racing which I am not interested in.

So basically I want a good sport-touring windscreen.

Theres a good place for deer and thats right in front of me...with some potatoes and gravy.

I'm sure there are some taller touring windscreens you can purchase out there. My suggestion though.. is to make a temp touring wind deflector for the top of your stock screen.

    I'm thinking...

You can get all the stuff from lowes (they carry plexiglass sheets in the screen door section), and just make 2 basic clamps. Attatch it to the top of the current windscreen to extend or alter the wind flow across the top. Use wing nuts and your looking at something easily removed even.

Aren't the 750 screens a little taller too?

check out some of the sport touing sites or google
"sport touring on Katana" and you will see lots of options. I personally like the laminar lip you can attach to existing screens when you need them and remove when you are done tourin.

            my 2 cents

The 98+ OEM screens are the same size on both models.

Eagle screens have the tall windscreens but they are pricey.

                        Medium Touring for $125
                        Extended Touring for $130
                        Large Touring for $140

                        and shipping:

This guy set up a Busa for touring - used a zero gravity screen plus a laminar lip....but just the lip would be good for your needs.
