If you like it better then it's the one to get! It's all about you at this point. Whichever one you get, you'll make it your own in pretty short order. As far as making it a streetfighter, if you're going to seriously mod the thing then go for the cheaper bike. (which works well since you seem to like that one anyway!)

Mine's an '89 750 and it's awesome. Same color as the one above too.

I get about 220 km per tank... not the greatest, but better than my van.

For the price of the '98, you could buy a vacation in Florida, fly down, enjoy BikeWeek, buy my used Kat (02 yellow Kat 600) and ride home with spare change still in your pocket compared to a local price of $3900!

        Cheers,

an 88 Katana 750 does NOT exist! You can come up with all the internet knowledge you want, there is NO 88 750. That started in 89.

olds_cool63, I think you should just get CP's bike.

$3900 seems really expensive for a '98, especially in your area...

But, it is your money. Do with it what you will.

+1 on that. If you'd prefer a newer bike then getting one from Florida means it's probably going to be in better shape. Plus, it's coming from a PO who actually seems to care about his bike, not one who lost interest a couple years ago and has finally decided he won't get that interest back and wants the garage space back. Not to mention the specific PO in this case is Cyber.

+1 there, too. Do the math; add up what it'd cost to make the trip, subtract that from $3900 and talk to the man. Who knows, you might end up with a nice bike AND a little vacation out of the deal!

Well, didn't get a chance to check any thing out today. But I was just looking online and the bike I rode last weekend it now officially listed and it's actually a '94! I guess the dealer had NO clue what year it was since he told me it was an '87.

Anyway, if someone buys my bike quickly and that '94 is still there, I'll definitely pick it up.

Like I said...I was REALLY impressed by it.

So...who can tell me more about the '94?
