  • Moisture coming form exhaust

It was about 70 degrees here tonight in tampa average humidity (for the area). I noticed by holding my hand in front of my exhaust that there was moisture coming out. condensation or something, i believe it was water because no smell to it. the bike (04 600) has been running pretty well so my question is, is this normal? thnks in advance.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
    And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
    RIP Marc

    Erik,

If the bike was parked outdoors overnight here in Tampa, at this time of year, yes, it's normal. Condensation forms in the exhaust, and then when you first fire up the bike, as it heats up, it clears out that condensation. In some cases, the alcohol content of the fuel also draws in water, and that too can increase the amount of steam being produced early on. As long as your exhaust is cleared up in about 5 minutes of running, and doesn't smell strongly of fuel or oil, it's all good.

    Cheers,

lets not forget that H2O is also a by product of combustion on a 4 cycle engine

now, it shouldnt be A LOT anyways. CP explained it well

you can use a exhaust plug like i do at night, this will also help to increase the life of your aftermarket exhaust, should you have one

maybe you need to replace the muffler bearings
if its leaking blinker fluid in there it will wear them out.

they dont have antifreeze either, thus no coolant leak possible.

Sheesh, some people cant spot a joke if beaten on the head with it.

I really did catch all the jokes with it. But the comment bout injectors made me think of an issue with mine last year. and it really is a pain in the butt to find them 2 issues.
