I know that the Katana 600 is a very comfortable bike, i was just wondering though... if i felt like i wanted a more aggressive position, could i like the handle bars down? or are they locked in place?

Search for a set of clip-ons to replace the stock bars. These attach to the fork legs rather than to the top of the triple trees and thus lower your bars. Be careful though -- you may find clearance issues with the fairings if you take them down too far...
Someone around here is using clip-ons -- I'm sure they'll speak up in a while.

i never found any clip-ons that would work. if you lower the front end on a katana 750 you can get a set to mount on ( enough fork tube exposed for the clip-on to bolt to ).
for the 600 all you can do is lower it ( raise the tubes ) to quicken the steering. i lowered mine 3/8". it makes a HUGE difference.
