  • Should I trade?

I put my Kat and my dirtbike on The local craigslist just to see if I could get any good offers.

Someone yesterday emailed me and wants to trade both my Pre-98 with 13,000 and a new engine and my Dirt bike for his Post-98. Its got 16,000 miles on it and he says it needs a valve adjustment. And the only reason he wants to trade is because of that, he says " I don't have the money for anyone to do that right now."

So he prefers to take a chance on an older bike? Including possible shipping, registration etc.., upfront insurance policy payment? Plus he'd get a dirtbike to boot! Dunno bout that deal, but I don't trust many ppl anyways :P

My kat needs a carb tune. But its got a GSXR Rotating assembly and cams with carbs. It also has the D&D pipe, V&H headers, B16 shock, New tires, New tank, all new rubber. It just doesn't have upper and lower fairings.

The Dirt bike needs a Stator and wont run until its replaced.

But thanks for all your opinions, I'm gonna tell him i'm not interested.

IMHO: Go evaluate his 98+ and see what type of condition it's in... You know what shape your own bike is in -- then make the call. My guess is that because he's between a rock and a hard place, you could get him to swap Kat-for-Kat instead and leave the dirt bike out of the equation.

                  Cheers,

I just thought to myself, If i wanted a 750 all i have to do is swap in that other engine I have.
