  • New bike

Well, my 3rd summer with the Katana has come to an end. I traded my Kat in for a "new" 2007 GSXR1000. Bike is still new with 20 miles on it.

They should deliver the GSXR Monday unless the bank has an issue, which it shouldnt.

Edit: I changed my mind. Went with a 2008 CBR600RR. I felt the 3x insurance price on a Gixxer 1000 was more than I was willing to pay. (still not really expensive, but I didnt feel it was worth the added cost)

Plus the sales guy I feel pressured me into a bigger bike than I wanted. Trust me, this CBR600 has PLENTY of power for street riding.

                      well. I am a liar.

I decided to refuse delivery today on the Gixxer 1000

Not only do I feel the sales rep pressured me into a bigger bike than I wanted, the insurance on a 1000 is $150.00 more per year than a 600. I am just not willing to do that.

Sorry for jumping the gun. the 1000 is freaking fast and fun but I think I am going to look hard at the CBR600RR for now..

Smart decision. You'll be more comfortable now simply due to the fact you're getting what YOU want and not what a sales person told you you wanted. Everyone here should pat this man on the back for having the willpower to refuse with the bike in front of his face. Now you can enjoy whatever stupid fast 600 you buy.

IMHO: The better bike is the GSXR750 -- 600 handling, and because it's not a competition class anymore, power more suited to real world needs.

But the real question is what kind of riding do you do in reality? There may be another bike for you that is actually "better" for your particular circumstances.

                            Cheers,
