Impact wrench??? It's not on there THAT tight....Florida, the only place where you need your windshield wipers and sunglasses. At the same time.

The bolt is typically loctite'd from the factory, so getting it off means you need to provide a very fast snapping force to get it started turning (applying pressure gradually won't break the bond). I've always used a spare clicker-style torque wrench set to it's highest setting and a hard snap motion to get it started...

Well mine was...I almost knocked it off the center stand. Either way, it worked out and I recommend an impact wrench to save the trouble.

Am i wrong when saying that this is only for US bikes.
Read somewhere that it only made any difference on US bikes because of some change in the setup for the USLast edited by OBrian-DK; 01-06-2008, 02:27 PM.

Mine was! It took prayer and much much muscle to get it off!"I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world."
