    Motorcyclist dies after hitting guardrail, tree

    A Largo man died Sunday when he struck a guardrail and was thrown from his motorcycle. Richard Grondin Jr., 38, of 12359 Cumberland Drive, was exiting Interstate 275 N onto State Road 686 about noon when he swerved into the outside emergency lane and struck the guardrail.

    He was thrown from his Katana sport bike, struck a tree, and came to rest at the bottom of a grassy embankment. Grondin was wearing a helmet, according to a release from the Florida Highway Patrol.

    ST. PETERSBURG - A 38-year-old Largo man was killed Sunday afternoon after he lost control of his motorcycle while exiting Interstate 275, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

    Richard Grondin Jr., of 12359 Cumberland Drive, was riding north on the exit to Roosevelt Boulevard when he lost control of his Katana Sportbike on a curve, the patrol said. He struck a guardrail and was thrown over the guardrail in the 12:19 p.m. wreck, the patrol said.

    Grondin was wearing a helmet.

    ============

    I hadn't met him yet, but ZukiFred had suggested that we meet in the near future and we had plans to do so once I finished the big home-improv projects our new place calls for.

    RIP Gekisho.

                      I would rather be judged by 12, than carried by 6.

                      It doesn't matter what they say about you as long as they spell your name right.
