Just wondering how much people spend in aftermarket and time put into their Kats or bikes doing upgrades...self done or what ever.

Hmmm...spent too much....I wouldn't call it much of an investment because for the amount I put into my Kat I know I won't get it back if I sell it...so I guess I'll keep her...Good judgement comes from experience, and often experience comes from Bad Judgement :smt084

As of right now eveything is at about $1500.00.
That includer new riding gear and all parts and bike. Now time lots of hours. I'm doing 95% of everything. I can't balance the tires, and might have the bike painted by a professional, will decide after I do it.

It looks like so far most of us like doing our own work and plus it is definitly cheaper that way. I have spent about 500 in parts and accessories, but i am working on doing some exhausts mods and etc but i have spent alot of hours cleaning and stuff like that. Most likely i will do 80 percent of my work. After my exhaust i am looking to get the steel braided brakes lines.06 KAT 600

I don't even want to think about it... and it also depends on how I total it up -- do I include the stuff I installed, then deinstalled & trashed or sold again? What about the 6 pairs of tires I bought at the same time to test against each other new-vs-new? And how about the oil pans I drilled into swiss cheese to figure out where the best place is to mount the oil temp senders, or the instrument surrounds that went the same way?
Even if I just look at what's on it now, the list is huge:
Ohlins suspension all around.
Custom all-weather oil temp & voltage gauges
Corbin saddle
GSXF emblems
Replacement '04 Tail, custom-painted to match
Pro-Oiler automated chain oiler
Logic-relay controlled secondary power system
Ceramic coated headers
ThrottleMeisters
Givi rack & removable hard bags
the list just goes on and on...
Cheers,
