  • Fecking pot holes, advice wanted

Fork oil seals been in three months, hit a pot hole realy hard now have oil around one fork leg. I wouldnt mind but this was the first dry day since before xmas.
I think its time to shuv a fork leg up a council officer!
I am after advice should I use vaseline to aid the insertion or just go with the bone dry no grease method just to get the message about pot holes across?
    Did I mention FECKING POTHOLES.

What seals did you use? Also may want to think about upgrading your suspension to suit you.

Just a thought but have you checked on the council website to see if its been reported? They may have to fix your bike if it has.

                      Hello CC
I reported the pothole after I went down it. That was a week or so back and the pothole is still there. We now have a dented rim on our car from another pothole two miles down the road from the one I hit.
If we get a good freeze England will go back to cart tracks so much of the tarmack will lift.

We already have cart tracks here, from the mud the tractors leave on the road. Its not a good time to ride through the back roads here at the moment.

After the couple of thousand earthqukes over the last 2 years the roads here in Christchurch are 3rd world. Not only are there holes there's ramps too. A friend of mine got airborne and broke his shaft drive on landing on a stretch of open road.

I have the '88 with the worst forks when I did the seals I shelled out and got the racetech springs and gold valve emulators and wow what a difference!
Highly recommended if you budget allows
