http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=180530564819 as an option for the rear.

Raise the forks into up in the triples 1/2 to 3/4" tops for the front. You can "slightly" adjust the height lower as well with increased preload on the front springs with lowering it as well.

Get better fork springs and a better rear shock. The R6 shock will lower the rear by about 3/4" with just changing to it.

Improved shocks and springs are needed to counter the lowering because the stock sucks to start with.

I would expect your looking at around $350 for new springs, shock, fork oil and seals, and lowering links.

thing is since it's 97 (pre if i understood well) they're harder to find, and I read that some were made in aluminum and weren't as safe/good

Soupy's seems to make the best one. as for the front, the bike shop close to my place should be able to play with the front one like you told me, I hope.

Thanks for the help guys (from a guy who REALLY wants his gf to finally ride her bike for a full summer!!!!)

All of this is something you could do yourself pretty easily.

There is even a full "how to video" on rebuilding the forks that would explain everything you need to know on swapping the springs and seals.

If you have some basic tools and a work area... your set.
