Yes, I too thought "headlight = GSXR" when I saw them riding in in the opening scene. I don't dig the look at all and I'm glad it isn't being associated with the Katana. '98-'06 Kat look FTW!

Originally posted by Edbeani HATE these bikes, they look exactly like the 500F but are tryin to steal the katana spotlight. Not to mention they tryed to mesh a gsxr and a kat together.... dumb as hell, i laugh at anyone who would waste their money on one
I'm thinkin they probably had the new 650 planned when they slapped that GSXR fairing on the 500 back in '04......

I agree that the video made the bike seem nicer than all these pics I've seen on the net.. I was expecting them to pull over and hear some 70's porno music start and watch them have a hump fest near there new GSX650F..
People I've talked to at dealerships all told me we in AZ will see them around Oct. (again, this is from a dealership salesman, take that as you will)..
I actually like the gixxr front end look, colors suck..
I'll wait till some squid buys one and downs it and puts it on Craigs list, then I'll do a front end swap..

So am I the only one that couldn't stop thinking of Shrek when the music started and the VERY green grass panned through. Now whenever I look at those mirrors, that's all I can think of.
PLEASE Take these images from my head!!!
I think I'll keep the '06 600 and skip the '08 650 thank you.

I guess I'm going to be the minority here and say I like the bike. Although I've also always liked gixxer styling, Also to the people saying they are glad this bike isn't a Katana replacement, in essence it kinda is because umm last time I checked the Katana isn't in the Suzuki lineup anymore at least not in the states. Also the Katana designation was GSXF so yeah, it's a replacement no matter how much some people don't want to admit it.
As far as the bike goes you can't go wrong with another 50cc and FI and I'm sure also a lighter chassis compared to the 600 Katana I'm willing to bet it slots in forOriginally posted by AbeezieSoNeezie
fact: a yammie is a girls bike
fact: more that one girl rides yammies therefore yammies = a bunch of girls
fact: girls lie
therefore, the following equation is true.
girls = yammah
yammah = a bunch of liars

I actually like the bike now that i see it on video. The pic did look pretty weak... but not here.
Sue me, but i actually like the GSXR inspired graphics. It may not be what everyone who rides a katana currently wants, but for me, its closer to what i want than my current 2001 is. Better graphics make it look more like an SS (awesome), water cooled, injected......
i wouldnt buy one now after my current kat, but if i was comparing the two for my first bike, i would love one of these new ones.
personally, i think suzuki did the right thing, giving the "katana" a little more performance out of the box. dont get me wrong, i love my kat dearly...but no one can say the current model didnt need an update badly...
not that theres anything wrong with riding a high performance bike...

I'm jumping in the minority pool, too. I really like the new look of the bike, eventhough it does take design cues from the GSXR. Although I really love my Kat, the front end left something to be desired for me. This is more boxy and aggressive in design, so the looks have me. I also prefer a more solid color scheme, but the black doesn't look too bad.
The impression I got was this is the replacement for the Katana. I am therefore wondering if they are going to make this in a 750. Anyone have any info on that? I may stop by my dealer today to see what they say. All in all, commercial was LAME, but the bike is OK for now. I really want to see one in person. The thing that interests me the most is the improvement to fuel injection.Anger Fuel Motion...Motion Fuels Momentum...Momentum Fuels Action...Do Something.
