  • What is this for?

OK this is above my headlight as you may be able to see, and I feel like a PO jacked up wiring somewhere along the line. I have loose wires hanging places. I am gonna try and clean it up with a little zip ties tomorrow, but i was moving this, and it just broke. Looks like it fried up at some point. My Question is what is it to though. Thanks

It's anyone's guess without tracing the wire. I suggest you hit up the Wiki and download the appropriate manual and have a look at the wiring diagram and from there you can trace it out.

Turn it on and see what doesn't work?

My guess is that it's one of the connections for either the low beam, or high beams. They are pretty well known for overheating in that plug location.

both of them went out the other night on my way home from work. Can anyone recommend a fix besides replacing the whole harness?

Bypass the plug, and use heavier connectors.

i followed the harness, and it looks like it goes into the throttle side. I will bypass it though, and see what it does.

It is my headlights. Can anyone tell me which wire going in to the plug is my headlights? I do not have a manual at work to run through the diagrams.

it looks like the burnt wire is an orange wire, and the wire on the other end of the plug is a yellow striped wire. Sound about right?

The idiot PO used electrical tape throught the bike. He did LED work places, and who knows what else, but it looks like a mess

That is the correct wire to connect it too.
