I have two versions now as well... One with the 'n' and one without.. the one without came up from a conversation I had with a friend about the neutral pin in the sensor... leave the neutral pin connected and use the non 'n' version to indicate gear and leave the factory neutral light in the dash..

I think I like that better. Something about that friendly green light...
Every bike I've ever owned has had a neutral light, even the ones with a gear indicator. I guess you get used to it.

Is it not possible to have both the n and neutral light?
I know it seems a bit superfluous, but... isn't a gear indicator as well.

Here is the deal.....
I have 2 programming versions;
v1.0 has the "n"
v1.5 does not have the "n"
I have 2 units assembled and the other 2 will be done by next week. The other 6 will be here by then as well.
I am waiting on the GS sensor to know which connector I need to order and to verify if the GS sensor Neutral wire connector is the same as the Kat unit.
Once I will have all of them assembled and ready to go, only then will I release them for shipping.
If I have to tweak the v1.0 units for the "n" timing I won't be shipping them right away. The v1.5 units will be available for shipping as soon as they are ready.
Both of these will keep the factory Neutral light in your dash functioning.
I have;
Qty. 2 - v1.0 units
Qty. 6 - v1.5 units
The GPI will be shipped with the 7-segment Display as a separate board for custom mounting in your dash or where ever. It will come with complete install instructions.
The GPI unit for KR members is $101.39, first come first serve.
I can also provide the GS sensor at a pretty good price with the GPI unit as a kit for $161.35
If your interested in a GPI unit, Please do not PM me.

I finally got to ride the Kat last nite and today. Once the brakes, sprockets, chain and battery were done I could actually ride the damn thing...
The unit worked perfect.. I noticed a quick flash of the 'n' between 1st and 2nd when I wasn't in a hurry to get to 2nd.. on a quick shift, i didn't see it, it if did display, it was so quick i missed it.. from 2nd on up i didn't see it either.http://www.7thgeardesigns.com

Hi,
I’ve been looking for a shift gear indicator in several web. There are some really goods (http://jcwren.com/katana/gpd/) but the main source has been the following link (it has already been referenced in the forum).
This is:
Eduardo includes many photos and indications helping in the process. Based on this one I’ve installed the indicator in my Katana. I just implemented some minor changes (different circuit, using just only a few diodes and resistors) but the idea is the same. I selected this alternative circuit because it was easier to implement (from my point of view) and it’s more robust (i.c. used in other designs are more sensible to the noise from ignition circuit)
Here some photos and explanation from my work:
And the video (the evidence ):

Thanks for this great forum and have a nice day,
