problem with battery

while filling up my new battery one of the plastic tubes broke. So one section of the battery did not get filled with the acid. Can i still use the battery or am i screwed ?

Return it to place of purchase and get another one, or ask for some battery acid to fill that one cell... A battery with a dry cell won't generate the right amount of power.

I've always just told them to fill/charge the battery before I picked it up... but I would go back to whomever you purchased it from.

Why not just get a sealed battery and not worry about having to fill it up?
