  • gsx600f katana 97 - need advice

    Hello guys,

I been looking at post on the forum for about a week now and I really like the forum!

I recently purchase my first motorcycle ->gsx600f Katana 1997.

I know only a little bit about motorcyly in general.

here is what has been done on the katana so far.

    oil changed + filter
    chain + sprockets
    clutch cable
    the carb. have been ajust

I see a lot of ppl changing the exhaust, header ,etc on pre98, is it really worth it?

    what about dynojet?

I notice that going at 120km/h (75mp/h) on the 6th gear the rpm was @ 6k, is that ok? my buddies have ninjas/cbr, they run at 4-4.5k.

If you have any suggestions about improvement or other things I should check just let me know

Welcome and congrats on the bike.
Skip the dynojet and go for a FactoryPro kit. They've got a much better reputation with Katanas. The exhaust swap is mostly about looks and sound but can be about reducing weight if you go for something other than a stock system. (Kats are heavy beasts!)

Is there anything that needs to be changed along with the FactoryPro kit?
What is this going to give me?
      What about the stages?

        Welcome to KR.
A Factory Pro jet kit can be done by itself with no additional mods. It will smooth out your power delivery and, short of modifying the suspension, it is the best performance upgrade you can do.

Then use Ebay? Tons of places to get those kits.
