  • What parkplugs?

Just curious what plug my 97 750 takes. The owners manual didn't come with the bike but according to NGK it's supposed to JR9C but I've read here a few times that 96+ are CR9EK...

the easiest way to tell is pull the plugs you have and check ngk.com

I think that the '97 motor, the '01 motor, and my Bandit all have CR9EK's in them. I'd have to look in the garage to know for sure.

Follow NGK's recommendation -- after all, they are the OEM vendor for the spark plugs. Or double-check your factory service manual.

My records indicate that a GSX750F takes (note odd year break):
          1988 - 1998:
          NGK JR9C (standard)
No NGK Iridium version of this plug available.

          1999 - 2004:
          NGK CR9EK (standard)
          OR
          NGK CR9EIX (iridium)
          OR
          DENSO U27ETR

I've read in a couple of other posts that 96+ were CR9EK but according to NGK it's the JR9C up to 98 as mentioned by CP.
It's stored now so I won't get a chance to have a look until next spring. There's no rush but I just wanted to clarify it and see what others thought.

                Hey no problem.

                I just realized I mis-spelled "sparkplugs" in title. D'oh.

I THOUGHT I read that 97 was the cutoff year where the changed plugs . But I don't see WHY . Same engine , innit ?

Funny thing is the 600 plug change at the 95/96 model year boundary.

                    hmmm...
