Some of the questions you haven't gotten an answer for is because it's hard to answer without sounding condescending. For example, syncing your carbs is adjusting each one to the specific vacuum for the cylinder. The vacuum is created by the piston lowering as the intake valve opens pulling air and fuel through the carb body into the engine. It has nothing to do with vacuum lines and replying that there is only one vacuum line, the one between the carbs and the petcock that controls the fuel, doesn't give you any good information to work with.

Other questions, would be answered by reading the service manual, a digital copy of which can be found in the Wiki. However, many of your questions are even more basic and relate to how internal combustion engines work in general. These are better answered by going to the How Stuff Works website. It's a lot to ask folks here to take the time to educate you from ignorant (not an insult, a statement of fact) to competent with out you putting in some effort to at least get some of the basics down on your own. It's really hard to guide someone when they don't have any basis for understanding.

See that was good advice! Thanks...but as far as wiki goes, i have searched at least 15 times and cant find anything bout kats except one page. If i could have found it i wouldnt be having to ask a million questions!

Yes stock everything as far as i can tell. I know there is no gas in the oil, i have checked that. As far as the floats go, idk....I did follow carbs 101 to the T, but did not really understand how to set the floats properly.

Somehow my bike seemed to work the kinks out on its own, idk how but it is running great. In about a week or two when my parts get in I am going to take her all apart and do everything PERFECT! I was just curious how to make it run decent until my parts came in....and the only thing that really bothered me was the backfire that happened 3 times, and how the rpms shot up hard everytime i hit the clutch!

WHen you click the WIki, this line is in there:

View a list of all the articles in our Wiki at this link

When you click the link, it takes you to: http://katriders.com/wiki/index.php5...ecial:AllPages which has links to Carbs 101 and a few other articles.

Another good source of information are the STICKIES at the top of each forum subsection. You can learn a lot by reading those too.

Darling, Look towards the top of this page. There's a blue bar, on the left it says UserCP then to the right of that, KatanaWiki. Click on the Katana Wiki. that's the wiki we are all taking about.
Get over yourself. For me to think you are an idiot, I would first need to think of you.

You might also find that general net searches can turn up lots of general information that will help you better understand the more specific information we give out on problems.

Youtube.com for example will have videos showing people doing carb syncs on all kinds of bikes... many of them very similiar or even using the same carbs as the Kat.

Websites other have written will have intro and how toos on basics and general mechanical things... for example, this http://www.dansmc.com/mc_repaircourse.htm is a link to someone who took the time to post a general "how to work on motorcycles" series.

Howstuffworks.com has lots of info too. Start with the basics... like http://www.howstuffworks.com/motorcycle.htm and then work towards more detail on how individual parts work.

There are a significant number of people who don't even understand how to properly use the tools they have, much less use them to fix what needs to be fixed. If you spend some time just learning the general stuff first, like terms, and basics of how things are supposed to work... then you find the answers given prior in your threads will make more sense. Alot more...

Noticed this site after I posted... http://www.howmotorcycleswork.com/

              !

The best way I found to do it is stand the carbs straight up (Floats pointing left. And lean the carbs to the right until the floats "fall" to the next spot and rest.. If you go to far they will "fall" past that to fully compressed.. Hope that helps.
