This is my first motorcycle, and after searching through past posts, I have not found an answer to why I am having trouble starting it.
When I try to start it, it will crank without a problem, but not even one cylinder ignites. Also, the exhaust doesn't smell like fuel. So, I tried priming it, and it worked, but I had to prime it every time I started it when the engine was cold. After letting it sit for a week, even with priming it it is difficult to start.
I was told that the fuel filter was replaced last year, but I am not certain that it was. I didn't know if the petcock or something wrong with the carbs would cause that. I'm just looking for some tips before I start replacing things and hope it works.
Thanks.
