  • trying to do valve adjustments

A response would be appreciated... I just got the tappet tool. So i adjust the intake valves between .10 and .15mm and the exhaust valves between .18 and .23mm?

Sure you can! That direction is here: http://katriders.com/wiki/index.php5...Service_Manual

Service manuals for pre's and posts. That will give him his answer.

Thats why I asked what his manual said. The link to the manual has been posted so much lately I didnt think it'd be terribly hard for him to find it.

Well, with how little info we have, I figured that was the best bet.

Also, did any of the pre's come with tappets? I thought they were all shims?

750's were screw tappets. 600's may have been a crap shoot, but I think most (if not all) are shim.

Good to know! His garage says 1990 600 frame, and I was trying to figure that out. I thought all pre's were shims.

                a 1990 600 is tappets. Shims where 92-97 600's.

The engine is an 06 750. i've got the pre98 600 manual that talks about shims so that didn't really help but the link you gave me to the service manuals is very helpful.

Can I adjust ALL valves having the 'T' lined up with the pickup coil? The notch position thing is screwing me up and i don't want to do it until i understand it.

you line up the T and to half of the valves, there is a pic in the manual for which ones. then you give it one turn and line up the T again and do the other half.

                    btw like this :
