Battery Removal

This may have been addressed (didn't find it) and/or a stupid question. If I remove my battery, how is that going to affect the odometer? I'm assuming I won't lose my mileage, but will my clock and trips.

The total mileage on the odo has to be retained (by law in the USA and most other places), and is.
