  • Rear shock adjusment issue

    so i have a 99 600 Kat

recently the wife finally started doing some riding with me and the rear was sagging a little more then i like

so i wanted to adjust the preload on the rear shock however when i bought the bike the tool kit was missing.

i run a little large about 6' 230 and she is around 5'2 and since she cant read this ill go ahead and say shes a little heavier to at around 140-145 range (quickly minimizes as the wife strolls by) but back to the question.

SO without having the tool kit therefor not having the coilover wrench used for adjusting, and living in the **** hole of Hanover PA i lack a local shop (atleast that ive found, i only bought a house here about 7 months ago) since Ray Wilts closed down. So basically my question is, is there any other method i could use in order to turn the adjustment up until i can get my hands on a tool kit off ebay.

    Thanks for any advice

    Bill

i used a big pipe wrench - it scratched it a little (i'm sure you could be more careful than me) but got the job done.

Spanner wrench costs like 15 dollars or so and is the proper tool.

            proper tools pssh,

screwdriver and a hammer got the job done lol, not ideal but it worked.

and i cruise in hanover just long enough to get to 83 to go back down to baltimore where i should have stayed.

Then what was the point of this thread if you were just gonna caveman it with a hammer an screwdriver?
