  • Quick Question about Carb #4

2002 Katana 600---I've already bench synced, and as I am hooking up my sync hoses, I notice that on carb #4, the nipple/fitting is flared on the end(bigger than the others). Does this unscrew? Or does the hose have to fit on here? If it's the latter, it will be a pretty tight fit, which I'm sure I can make happen.

Any input would be great! Thanks in advance!

If the hose wont fit it you may need a new diaghram cover.

I think #4 on a 600 is both the petcock fitting and the synch.. Right?
Maybe the PO did something to it?

#4 is bigger because its the vacum for the petcock to get fuel to the carbs, i just put a little oil on a shop towel and wiped it on the nipple and it slid right on with out to much force.

Correct BP, it is the petcock fitting, it is just slightly bigger than the others. The PO hasn't touched anything on this bike since he had it from the dealer (According to him...)

JRENFRO---Oh ok, that's what I figured, thanks yall!

Dudes, you need to realize 98+ carbs are different. BP, you are right. Cintidude04, the 98+ sync ports aren't on the diaphragm cover. As they already stated, the #4 is for the vacuum hose to the petcock. It's supposed to be bigger than the other 3. It's all good.
